The Pegasus flies...
...and I am floored to learn that I've been awarded a Pegasus for 'Best Writer / Composer' at this year's Ohio Valley Filk Festival.

Thank you so very much to the folk who made this happen, which is to say the Pegasus organisers as well as everyone who voted.

My congratulations to all the other winners! What a lot of great music there is out there!

...and what a lovely piece of news on this unremittingly grey day. I hope somebody out there has sunshine. We have the stove lit, and belting out a nice bit of fire for us.

Also, congratulations to Tim and Annie Walker, who are next year's guests at OVFF. I know they'll have a wonderful time, and so will everyone there.

I haven't, as they say, any plans to travel to the States at the moment, but I must must MUST do more recording, when the dust settles on some of the issues that have occupied this last year and more. I may in time crib ideas from your own splendid site, since you have a very comprehensive set of disrtibution ideas set up there. Imitation is...?

What they said about well-deserved. Consistent songwriting of excellent quality, varied, interesting & touching content and with a splendid musical variety, too... what more can one want or this category?

I have sunshine, I have tea, I have smiles & hugs - and I'm sending you half of all to be with you in my stead. To be followed by real me before too long, I hope. :)

(Oh, and I played Still Catch the Tide at FAB folkclub in Grays, Essex yesterday in my 2+1 floorspot between Heather Dale's gig spots. Old, but one of those damn good songs. :)

I have arrived safely back from OVFF with all my luggage, which means I have a Pegasus trophy now sitting on the mantlepiece in the music room, ready to be given to you. I also have lots of hugs for you and the family to pass on. :D

The Pegasus has started the next leg of the journey, and with any luck [info]vaurien should be able to pick it up this weekend for you. :D

Congratulations on your Pegasus!

Archetype Cafe was one of the first songs I fell in love with when I was introduced to filk, and I've performed it everywhere from women's festivals to art galleries and everybody has loved it, so I was thrilled when you won the Best Writer Pegasus. :-)
